Upon successful registration, you will receive a mnemonic recovery phrase. Store this phrase securely offline — it is the only way to recover your account if you lose access. No email address or personal information is required at any point.
Thor Market currently supports the following cryptocurrency payment methods:
- Bitcoin (BTC) — The most widely accepted option across all vendors.
- Monero (XMR) — Recommended for users who prioritize transactional privacy.
All deposits are made to unique per-user wallet addresses generated by the platform. There are no fees for depositing funds, though standard network transaction fees apply. Withdrawals are processed promptly and support both currencies.
After logging in, visit the Wallet section of your dashboard. You will see a deposit address for each supported cryptocurrency. Send funds from your external wallet to the provided address, and once the transaction receives the required number of network confirmations your balance will update automatically.
To place an order, browse listings or use the search function, select your desired item, confirm quantity and shipping details, then authorize the purchase with your PIN. Funds will be held in escrow until the order is finalized.
Security
Anonymity is a core design principle of Thor Market. The platform operates exclusively as a Tor hidden service, which means all traffic is routed through the Tor network and your IP address is never exposed to our servers.
We do not collect or store any personally identifiable information. No email is required for registration, no logs of user activity are retained beyond what is strictly necessary for order processing, and all sensitive data is encrypted at rest. We strongly recommend using Monero for transactions, as it offers built-in transaction obfuscation that Bitcoin does not provide natively.
Yes — enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) is strongly recommended. Thor Market supports PGP-based 2FA. Once configured, each login attempt will require you to decrypt a short PGP-encrypted message with your private key, proving that you are the legitimate account holder.
To set it up, navigate to Account Settings, paste your public PGP key, and save. From that point forward, every login will present an encrypted challenge. This makes unauthorized access virtually impossible, even if your passphrase is compromised.
Thor Market uses a mandatory escrow system to protect both buyers and sellers. When you place an order, the payment amount is deducted from your wallet balance and held securely by the platform rather than being sent directly to the vendor.
Funds are released to the seller only when one of the following occurs:
- You manually finalize the order after confirming receipt and satisfaction.
- The auto-finalize timer expires (typically 14 days after the vendor marks the order as shipped) without a dispute being opened.
If there is a problem with your order, you can open a dispute before the auto-finalize window closes, and a moderator will review the case.
Trading
All vendors on Thor Market must pass a verification process before they can list products. Prospective sellers submit an application that includes a vendor bond payment, which serves as a financial commitment to operating in good faith.
Verified sellers receive a trust badge displayed on their profile and listings. The platform also maintains a public feedback and rating system — every completed transaction generates a buyer review that contributes to the vendor's overall reputation score. We recommend purchasing only from sellers with established track records and high ratings.
Yes. Any registered user may apply for a vendor account. The process involves paying a one-time vendor bond, which is non-refundable and serves to deter scam accounts. Once your bond is confirmed, you gain access to the seller dashboard where you can create listings, manage inventory, and communicate with buyers.
Vendors are expected to adhere to all marketplace rules, maintain honest product descriptions, ship promptly, and resolve disputes professionally. Repeated violations or confirmed scam activity will result in account termination and forfeiture of the bond.
Thor Market enforces a strict set of rules designed to maintain a safe and fair trading environment. The full list of rules is available on the Rules page, but key points include:
- Vendors must describe products accurately and fulfill orders as promised.
- Doxing, threats, and harassment of other users are strictly prohibited.
- Certain categories of items are banned entirely — refer to the rules for the complete list.
- Attempts to finalize early outside of escrow are not permitted.
Violations are handled by the moderation team and may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent bans depending on severity.
Support
If an order does not arrive, arrives damaged, or does not match the listing description, you can open a dispute directly from the order page. Click "Open Dispute" and provide a detailed explanation of the issue along with any supporting evidence.
A moderator will be assigned to the case and will review statements from both the buyer and the seller. The resolution process typically takes 24 to 72 hours. Possible outcomes include a full refund, a partial refund, or release of funds to the vendor if the dispute is found to be without merit. Both parties are encouraged to attempt direct resolution via private messages before escalating to a formal dispute.
Thor Market provides several channels for reaching the support team:
- Support Tickets — Submit a ticket through the Help section of your dashboard. This is the primary and most reliable method for all account-related inquiries.
- Forum — Post in the community support forum for general questions. Staff and experienced community members regularly monitor and respond to threads.
Typical response time for support tickets is under 24 hours. For urgent matters such as compromised accounts, mark your ticket as high priority and include as much detail as possible to expedite the process.
